Dahlias start to ship when they eye-up. In 2021 and 2022 this started in April and we were done shipping by the end of June. In 2023 we didn’t get to start shipping in earnest until May, which was hard on us and on the customers in warmer areas that wanted to get started with planting. Hoping 2024 allows for shipping starting in April for all our sakes.
Dahlias are an easy-to-grow long-lasting burst of color in your garden. Excellent cut flowers and long-lasting bloomers.
Though they do require some staking and support, and you will want to dig them up in the fall and store them in a cool damp (but not too damp) place for winter, they are worth the effort.
Full sun.
