Solar-powered Automatic Coop Door
ChickCozy sent me their solar-powered coop door to try out, and I really like it.
It was super easy to install and set up. Because it is solar-powered, I made sure to install it on a coop with a southwest-facing door to get the best sun exposure.
It’s simple to program to open shortly after dawn and close before dusk; I especially appreciate that I can fiddle with that to close earlier or open later based on how much light there is. That is, we set ours to open only when there is lots of light and close as soon as it starts to get a little dark. But you could set yours to open earlier and close later if you like.
I did stick my arm in there while it was closing to test the no-pinch safety feature and it worked exactly as advertised, so hooray that!
I couldn’t be more pleased with my ChickCozy solar-powered automatic door and I’ll be budgeting to outfit the other six coops with one.
