Stella Stargazer

Little Stella hatched out as a Stargazer: a chick with a Selenium deficiency who is constantly looking for the stars. Without help, she would have died of hunger and thirst.

I put little dabs of Goat Selenium on my fingertip and scraped it into her beak when she peeped, and then dipped her beak in water to wash it down. It took a day and a half of repeated doses, but she is doing great.
