Wyze Cams

As I have been sharing videos of the farm, kitty cam, chick cam etc., folks have been asking about the cameras. Well here’s the scoop.

We used to use Arlos, and we tried Xfinity, but we are 100% Wyze cams now. They are not costly, they set-up easily, I can control them from my phone, my laptop, or my Echo Show.

This article will cover:

The WYZE Cam Pan v3

The WYZE Cam Pan v3 — it pans, tracks, and zooms, giving me coverage of a whole room. We have this one in the outbuildings for the goaties, and the barn kitties and for general security back there. You step in? Smile and wave, as we see you.

This one plugs into an outlet via a USB adaptor, no hard-wiring needed, and it has a speaker and a mic, so if we need to have a chat, we can.

And here it is in action. Notice how it tracks the raccoon across the room?

And here is a super low-light night shot of the goaties.

WYZE Floodlight Camera

WYZE Floodlight Camera hard-wires into the wall. We have them where Porch Lights would have been. They are motion-activated, so when something moves at night, the lights come on and the cameras start to record. During the day, the lights stay off, but the camera records if anything moves.

If you are watching and see an undesirable on your property you can activate the siren from your phone. Haven’t needed to do that yet, but nice to know I can. Listed at only $60 on Amazon today and also features a speaker and a mic.

Here is the sort of footage it captures on a dark and rainy night.

WYZE Cam v3 with Color Night Vision

The WYZE Cam v3 with Color Night Vision are the cameras we use in small locations, like the Creamery, where we grow out the juveniles and stash spare roosters. This one plugs into a USB, and does not move, nor does it have a mic or a speaker.

Super low light footage.
